 PARENTS OF PRESCHOOL-KINDERGARTEN KIDS!

Our basic truth for August is God Loves Me! Our memory verse for this month is Joshua 1:9, “God is with you wherever you go.” (NLT)Make sure to pick up a memory verse magnet to help your kids remember our verse.

Week 1 – We start out the new school year with the classic story of Baby Moses. God pulled off His miraculous plan to save His people by starting when Moses was just a baby. God not only saved Moses from the hands of a cruel Pharaoh, but He even placed Moses in Pharaoh’s own household, with Moses’ own mom as his caregiver. Our bottom line is: God is always with me!” See how much your child remembers of the story. Ask them these questions: What did the mean Pharaoh make the Israelite people do? What was the very bad rule that Pharaoh made? Moses’ mommy made something special to put Moses in to float on the river? Why did Moses’ mommy put Moses in the basket on the river? Who found baby Moses in the river? Go to Genesis 3 to find the answers.

PARENTS OF ELEMENTARY KIDS!

Our AUGUST VIRTUE is CONTENTMENT – CHOOSING TO BE HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU’VE GOT.

Week 1 – As school begins, we are starting at the beginning. Our Bible story takes us back to the beginning in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve, even though they had everything they could ever want and need, were tempted by the one thing that they had been told by God to leave alone. Sometimes we become discontent because we want something that we shouldn’t have. We will learn today that when you want what you shouldn’t have, it can lead to trouble.  With your kids make two different lists this week. First, make a list of things that you really want, but you shouldn’t have. Be honest! Then make a list of things that God has given you. Be happy with what you’ve got!
