As of right now, the weather is looking awesome for our Family Celebration on Friday, June 8! We’ll leave everything out from the loads-of-fun-for-everyone Block Party, which will be a perfect backdrop for an outdoor concert with Joe Banua!!

PARENTS OF PRESCHOOL-KINDERGARTEN KIDS!

Our basic truth for June is God Made Me! Make sure to pick up a new memory verse magnet to help your kids remember this month’s memory verse from Psalm 89:11, “You made the world and everything in it.” (NCV)

Week 1 – Kids will take off on our 2 month journey of how it all began. As we begin exploring the Creation story, our first stop is on Day 1, when God created Light and Dark (Genesis 1:1-5).

Have fun this week talking to your kids about Light and Dark, and how grateful we are that God made not only Light and Dark, but God made everything!

PARENTS OF ELEMENTARY KIDS!

Our JUNE VIRTUE is TRUST – PUTTING YOUR CONFIDENCE IN SOMEONE YOU CAN DEPEND ON.

Week 1 – Epic. That’s the kind of adventure we are heading out on this month. An epic adventure in trust. Our verse for this month is from Matthew 22:37-38, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.” (NIV)

And so we start out looking at some people were definitely all in for Jesus. From day one. The disciples. We are looking into Luke 5:1-11 as Jesus called His disciples, seeing how they literally dropped everything to do so!

What’s so exciting about that account is realizing that God has a plan for each and every one of us as well! It gets even easier to trust God when we see our bottom line for this week: I can depend on God because he has a plan for me.

Engage your kids this week in a conversation about what God might have planned for their lives. Ask what they think He has planned. Share with them what gifts and talents you see in their lives, and what you believe God has given those to them to accomplish. Pray together with your kids for your whole family to be all in for God, thanking Him for having a plan for each of you and for being someone worthy of the most trust!

Bonus: Don’t miss Wednesday of FX this week – we’ll be exploring even more on the virtue of TRUST!!

 PARENTS OF PRESCHOOL-KINDERGARTEN KIDS!

Our basic truth for May is God Loves Me! Your kid’s will come home this month knowing Isaiah 1:17 by memory, “Learn to do what is right.” (NIrV)

Week 4 – Kid’s will look at the story of Daniel and the Lions in Daniel chapter 6, and see that God wants me to do the right thing! Daniel was living in a far away place where people didn’t believe in God. But Daniel prayed to God every single day. Even when men who were jealous of Daniels’ success tricked the King into throwing Daniel into the lion’s den, Daniel continued to pray to the one true God. Make a point this week to stress the importance of prayer with your kids. Are you in the habit of praying together?

PARENTS OF ELEMENTARY KIDS!

Our MAY VIRTUE is RESPONSIBILITY – SHOWING YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH WHAT’S EXPECTED OF YOU!

Week 4 – This week your kid’s discover the greatest commandment! When we love God more than anything, the other things we’ve been talking about this month, like our stuff, words and actions, are easier to live out. When you get the relationship part right, the responsibility part becomes a more natural expression of our love rather than something we do because it’s a rule. Our bottom line this week is: I can be trusted when I put God first.

As we wrap up our month-long conversation about responsibility, challenge your kid’s with these things this week:

When I put God first, all of those other things I’m responsible for just fall into place.

When I put God first, I’m thinking of how I can use my talents to show Him how much I love Him.

When I put God first, I’m choosing words that honor and bring glory to Him.

When I put God first, I’m loving people around me, because they are unique and wonderful creations.

Week 3 – Kid’s will look at the story of Daniel’s diet in Daniel chapter 1, and see that God wants me to do the right thing! God tells us that he will give us the strength and the courage to do the right thing. Have you ever noticed that when you do the right thing, it makes you feel good, and feel content? And that makes it a little easier to do the right thing the next time around.

PARENTS OF ELEMENTARY KIDS!

Our MAY VIRTUE is RESPONSIBILITY – SHOWING YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH WHAT’S EXPECTED OF YOU!

Week 3 – Our Bible story this weekend is the Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37). In this parable we see how the people we most expect to be responsible, aren’t responsible at all! Your kids will be challenged to be more like the Samaritan, even if we’re busy or have other reasons not to stop and help someone. Ask your child this week how he thinks he can be more responsible with his actions?  We can’t do this on our own. God is the one who’s responsible and our responsibility is a reflection of Him. Our bottom line this week is: I can be trusted when I choose to help others in need.

Our memory verse this month is Luke 16:10, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” Encourage your kid’s to memorize this verse, but more than that, plug it in to their head AND their heart.

Week 1 – Kid’s will be reminded that God wants me to do the right thing! We will learn a lot from Joseph this month. Even though he had a hard time with his brothers, Joseph chose to do the right thing and God blessed him. Sometimes at home sibling rivalry can be a CHALLENGE. Encourage your kid’s to do the right thing this week, even when it comes to their brothers and sisters.

PARENTS OF ELEMENTARY KIDS!

Our MAY VIRTUE is RESPONSIBILITY – showing you can be trusted with what’s expected of you!

Week 1 – Our Bible story this week is the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30). This parable is the key for the entire month because it talks about being responsible with our stuff – both our money and our gifts. Everyone has been given something, so what should you do to invest it? We’ll see how the worst thing is to just sit on it or save it for later. Our bottom line this week is: I can be trusted when I make the most of what God has given to me.

Our memory verse this month is Luke 16:10, “Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” Encourage your kid’s to memorize this verse, but more than that, plug it in to their head AND their heart.

Review the Parable of the Talents story in Matthew 25 and discuss with your family what talents each of you have and how you can use them to reflect God.
